Autumn 2019 News from the Chair

Autumn Term 2019 Governing Body News…

During this term we said goodbye to governors Mrs. Robynne Plant and Mr. David Varley and we thank them for their service and contribution to the school.  We  also welcome Mrs. Lisa Taylor as a new Parent Governor.

Thank you to FOGS for their continuous and highly successful fundraising which  they provide for Gisburn School.  The huge amount of personal time donated by individual FOGS members is very much appreciated, and we are very grateful for the successful organisation of so many events and activities for the benefit of our school.  Their vital contribution towards the school’s finances mean that our pupils do not miss out on resources and experiences that they otherwise would.  Thank you also to all the parents who support FOGS by attending their events and donating to the school.

The Full Governing Body, Standards and Effectiveness Committee (SEC) and Resources Committee have met this term and reports have been received from governors on Safeguarding, Humanities, Early Years Foundation Stage and Robins.  The Chair of Governors visited Eagles class and shared her experiences as a genealogist.

We look forward to welcoming Mrs Gervis and Mrs Tanuku in January in Kingfishers and Owls classes.

We wish you all the best for the festive seasons, hope you have an enjoyable Christmas break and we look forward to seeing you in 2020!

The Governing Body of Gisburn School.
