The School Games Mark continues to reward schools for their commitment to and development of competition, school sport and physical education.

We are absolutely thrilled to announce that Gisburn Primary School has been awarded the Platinum School Games Mark! This prestigious accolade is only given to schools that have consistently achieved a Gold Award and demonstrated an unwavering commitment to promoting sport and activity in our community.

Achieving the Platinum Mark is no small feat, and we are proud to be among the select few schools nationwide to receive this honour!

Our commitment to excellence in Physical Education, School Sport, and Physical Activity (PESSPA) is unwavering. We are especially proud of our Sports Leaders, who will continue to carry the torch and seek innovative ways to enhance the sporting experience for all our students.

Over previous years, we have progressed through Bronze, Silver and Gold awards and below are some of the achievements that have helped us to gain our Platinum!

• Ensuring that all children in KS2 take part in either Level 1 (internal) or Level 2 (external) competitions.
• Providing opportunities that attract less active children to participate in physical activity.
• Providing opportunities for gifted and talented children to further broaden their experiences.
• Providing a range of lunchtime clubs and sporting experiences e.g. triathlon, dance festival, mini-tennis, cycling and basketball taster sessions.
• Promoting sporting achievements on the school notice boards and school website.
• Employing sports coaches to deliver Curriculum PE, Clubs and provide staff training.
