‘Give Them Wings So They Can Fly!’

Wheelchair Basketball/Tig

Here all KS 2 children had an amazing time taking part in wheelchair basketball and FS/KS1 children thoroughly enjoyed playing wheelchair tig.

All the children had a great time pushing up and down and experiencing what it is like to play a sport in a wheelchair and this allowed them they to see that regardless of what ABILITY we have anything is possible.

The sessions were led by Shaun, who is the first wheelchair adaptive athlete to have completed in 2 UK Obstacle Course Racing Championships with his team 'No Fear on Wheels'. He has managed to clock up a staggering 100+km of completed courses in his RGK Tiga with Frontwheel to date; Born Survivor; Reaper; Ram Run; Nuclear Races to name a few. He is also the first paraplegic to attempt to climb Mount Kilimanjaro following the Rongai Route. With the support of his team and porters he reached 16,700 feet before having to evacuate from the Mountain due to the terrain which became increasingly difficult combined with the altitude. In 2017 he travelled from Lands End to John O Groats- 'Changing 20 lives in 20 Days'. This was the most physical and emotional challenge to date that he has undertaken. But along the way supporting individuals and local charities.

Over the years, Shaun has raised over £150,000 for many different charities with the challenges he has set himself, The Neuro Foundation; Cancercare; Alex House Friends; Unique Kidz & Co; Lancaster Bulldogs Wheelchair Basketball Club to name a few.

On June 9th 2018 Shaun is pushing up Ben Nevis for 4 amazing charities and we will be fundraising to support him.
