On Friday, 20th September Eagles enjoyed an unforgettable day in Manchester! During the morning, the children visited the Pankhurst Museum —a significant landmark in the history of women’s rights and the suffragette movement. Our recent curriculum work has covered women's right to vote, this excursion provided a fantastic opportunity for the children to explore the birthplace of the suffragette movement.
They dived deep into the lives of the Pankhurst family, and even sat around the table of the first-ever Women’s Social and Political Union (WSPU) meeting!
We couldn't be prouder of the children, who not only demonstrated their prior knowledge of the subject but also displayed an impressive passion for activism. Their enthusiasm truly reflected our School Values! Who knows, we might just be nurturing the next generation of change makers!
During the afternoon, Eagles had the incredible opportunity to visit the recently refurbished Manchester Museum. While this trip wasn't part of our regular curriculum, it was simply too brilliant to pass up! From arrival, the children were buzzing with excitement, and it was clear that the museum had plenty to offer. The various exhibitions sparked their curiosity, but the Fossil Room was definitely the star of the show! The curators were particularly impressed by the children's enthusiasm and fascination in each unique room. It was wonderful to see their inquisitive minds at work!
