Our Diverse Curriculum

Our Diverse Curriculum...

We believe that equality at our school should permeate all aspects of school life and is the responsibility of every member of the school and wider community. EVERY MEMBER of our school community should feel safe, secure, valued and of equal worth. At Gisburn School, equality is a key principle for treating people fairly, and creating a community in which everyone has the opportunity to fulfil their potential - irrespective of their gender, ethnicity, disability, religion or belief, sexual orientation, age or any other recognised area of discrimination.

We strive to provide a stimulating and caring environment in which children can achieve their full potential, both academically and personally.

OFSTED have recognised:

The school has evaluated its contribution to community cohesion well and taken good action at different levels. Pupils gain awareness and understanding of the diverse nature of lifestyles and cultures in Britain and the wider world through themed weeks and links with schools in contrasting locations

Odd Socks Day...

In 2021 we enjoyed holding an Odd Socks Day for Anti Bullying Week, enabling the children to express their individuality and what makes us all unique.

Anti-Bullying Week is coordinated by the Anti-Bullying Alliance each year and aims at empowering children and young people to celebrate what makes them, and others, unique. It also sought to help children understand the importance of ensuring every child is able to be themselves, without fear of bullying.
