Gisburn Primary School is within sight of our great local landmark Pendle Hill, backing on to green fields and is situated in the heart of Lancashire's Ribble Valley in the rural village of Gisburn, close to the main Clitheroe-Skipton road.
The school premises are a combination of old and modern buildings. There are five classrooms; all of the classrooms and the hall have interactive whiteboards. I-Pads and laptops are also used to support the delivery of the curriculum. The hall/gymnasium is where lunch is taken and our well-equipped kitchen allows for daily preparation of fresh food for our children and staff. We also have a fully equipped library and cookery/DT room.
Outside we have a large tarmac playground, an additional smaller playground dedicated to the younger children and an extensive playing field which is equipped with a trim trail, kindly provided by our Friends Association. We have a superb outdoor learning area for children in foundation stage together with a magnificent chalet style play house and vegetable garden. The children can also enjoy our wildlife garden and extensive play equipment, all within a secure environment. Car parking is available for staff and visitors and both levels of the school have disabled access.
We are proud of our school and the children’s academic and personal achievements.
We care well for all our pupils and ensure they enjoy learning in a happy, safe and secure environment.
We want our children to achieve the highest standards and we work hard to ensure they reach their potential and prepare them for their future roles. Our curriculum has many strengths and is enriched through specific programmes and extracurricular activities.
Our school is part of the community and we value the good relationships we have with our families and the wider community. We extend a warm welcome to all our parents and share with them an active partnership in their children’s education that will prepare them for the future. We hope our website will give you a flavour of all we can offer here and you have been inspired to visit us soon; ‘our words in action’.
