We have celebrated National Writing Day – a yearly event that champions the power of creative writing and encourages people of all ages and abilities to write for enjoyment. It highlights the importance of creativity, mental wellbeing, social connection, and self-expression, helping everyone discover their own writing motivation and voice.
We all gathered for an assembly where we listened to Matisse’s Magical Trail by Tim Hopgood, beautifully read aloud by Tom Hardy. The inspiring tale follows an artistic snail who leaves a magical trail behind him, sparking imagination and creativity.
Then we explored the life and work of Henri Matisse and took part in a creative morning filled with both art and writing activities linked to the story. The children produced some truly fantastic written pieces, which we are excited to celebrate by decorating our school corridors with their wonderful work.
